Both the first tapping and the first heat at the casting machine at Dabrowa Gornicza plant occurred in 1976. Ten years later the plant was operating at its full capacity thanks to the start-up of blast furnace no.2. Quality of steel was guaranteed by the continuous casting lines, while significant environmental investments like a converter gas recovery installation allowed the plant to obtain environmental management certificates. In 2003 the plant became part of Polskie Huty Stali. Currently it is a source of pride to its new owner - ArcelorMittal Poland.
