ArcelorMittal Poland’s employees are trained continually at all organizational levels. For line employees specialist technical and technological trainings are developed, enhancing their skills and efficiency in a given position.

Lunch & Learn

The main objective of Lunch & Learn sessions is to strengthen competences of employees, inspire them into action and development of their knowledge and skills. Lunch & Learn cycle consists in lectures delivered by well known and highly valued figures of public life as well as experts in the field of business. Examples of topics covered by Lunch & Learn meetings:   

    Meetings with a special mission
    Emerging in leadership
    Personal branding for everyone
    99 minutes of good motivation 

After each lecture, all participants are invited to lunch, which is a great opportunity to network, get to know people from other areas of the Company and exchange experiences.

Workshops for parents

A series of workshops for parents and those who look after children, designed to help them strengthen and develop their skills of building a parent-child relationship. Workshop participants can widen their knowledge of child development. Additionally, they get the ideas of how to help and encourage a child to develop autonomously. During the workshops parents learn for instance: 

    how to encourage creativity in a child?
    how to deal with a child’s emotions?
    how to strengthen a sense of self-esteem in a child?

These sessions not only give parents a chance to participate in lectures and inspiring activities, but they are also a great opportunity for them to share experiences with other parents and talk to psychologists about problems experienced while raising a child.

Training catalogues – training courses designed to enhance personal effectiveness

Based on the analysis of individual employee development plans, a training programme has been developed to boost personal effectiveness. Employees can take part in workshops focusing on such topics as communication, work organisation, stress management, project management, presentation skills. To cater for needs of managers, a training catalogue for a shift leader and manager has been prepared, with a wide range of trainings to choose from, for instance sessions dedicated to motivation or team management.

“maSz TAlent”

“maSz TALent” is a development programme addressed to experts and young engineers of ArcelorMittal Poland. By preparing new employees to take up roles of specialists and managers, this initiative is a response to the problem of age and skills gap in our workforce. This programme facilitates a two-way transfer of knowledge between young engineers and employees with long professional experience (experts in steelmaking) who work together on a project. Every year projects developed by participants of “maSz TALent” initiative are presented to the top management, and the best ones are implemented, thereby contributing to the growth of the Company. Authors of winning projects are awarded an English language course in London.

Language courses

As part of ArcelorMittal Group operating worldwide, we cooperate with colleagues from all over the world on a daily basis. To ensure undisturbed and smooth communication, employees are offered a possibility to take part in language courses, both in groups and one-to-one. Additionally, they can subscribe to an online language learning platform to further develop not only their English language skills, but also learn other languages such as French, Spanish or German. Every year employees have an opportunity to test their language competence by taking TOEIC exam or participating in language games organised under Perfect Your English initiative.

Development within Group

To facilitate transfer of knowledge, international meetings are held under various corporate programmes as well as ArcelorMittal University. Thanks to ArcelorMittal University employees of the Group in every unit have access to training programmes, which help them develop their personal, technical and specialist competences.
