- 'The generational change’, when the old is replaced with the new is inevitable also when it comes to devices and machines. We are taking the next step in improving Health and Safety conditions, environmental performance, and in modernizing and automating technological processes. To ensure a stable production process in the long term, in perspective of several decades, we are modernizing  simultaneously industrial peripheral devices and machines – underlines Tomasz Dziwniel, Steel Plant director in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

The assembly of the new basic oxygen furnace took place on November 20. Weighing up to 700 tonnes, the steel giant has been transported to its final destination with the use of two overhead cranes with the capacity of 500 tonnes each. An identical operations took place at ArcelorMittal Poland in 2014 and 2016, when, respectively, the replacement of BOF no. 2 and BOF no. 1 took place.
