The largest coking plant in Europe takes students from the Kędzierzyn technical school under its wing

ArcelorMittal Poland, the owner of the coking plant in Zdzieszowice, has taken patronage over the 3rd class with an electrical profile in the Technical and General Education School Complex in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Thanks to this cooperation, young people will gain the support of mentors, preparation for the profession and awards for academic results and commitment.

In September, 26 people started their education in the 3rd grade of the electrical profile at ZSTiO, for whom a lot of useful knowledge awaits. As part of the patronage, ArcelorMittal Poland will organize internships for them, during which students will be assigned mentors. Experienced employees will show them what the daily work of electricians in industry looks like and assign tasks adequate to their level of knowledge. To further motivate future electricians, ArcelorMittal Poland will fund outstanding students with awards for good academic results and commitment during internships.

In order to inspire students to choose a profession in industry, the company will organize student visits to the largest coking plants in Europe, i.e. the Zdzieszowice branch of ArcelorMittal Poland. As an additional, practical component of electrician education, the employees of the coking plant will also ensure the transfer of knowledge by participating in 3rd grade classes.

"Establishing cooperation with ArcelorMittal Poland is a distinction for our school and another important step towards modern vocational education. Taking the patronage of the students of the third grade of electrical technicians will bring measurable benefits to our students – it will allow them to acquire practical skills, learn about the realities of working in a modern company and better prepare for entering the labor market. Students will be able to learn from the best specialists, take part in internships, study visits and projects that will bring them closer to modern technologies and standards in the industry. I would like to thank the representatives of ArcelorMittal Poland for their trust and openness to joint activities. Together, we can create solid foundations for the future of young, ambitious electricians" says Maria Staliś, Director of the Technical and General Education School Complex in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

ZSTiO in Kędzierzyn-Koźle is the third school in which ArcelorMittal Poland has taken the patronage of the electrician class. Similar ones are already in place in the Technical Scientific Plants in Dąbrowa Górnicza and in the Electrical School Complex No. 2 in Krakow.
