Wojciech Koszuta becomes the new chairman of the Board of Directors at ArcelorMittal Poland. Sanjay Samaddar appointed the new chairman of the Supervisory Board

On December 12,2024 Sanjay Samaddar stepped down from the position of the chairman of the Board of Directors at ArcelorMittal Poland. He will continue in his role as the Country Head Poland and the CEO of ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products. 

Today, the Supervisory Board of ArcelorMittal Poland has appointed Wojciech Koszuta, CEO of the company since July 2023, as the new chairman. Also, by Supervisory Board’s decision Sanjay Samaddar has been appointed as the chairman of the Supervisory Board. He replaces Augustine Kochuparampil, who has been appointed the deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board. 

- I am exceptionally privileged to have been associated with ArcelorMittal Poland for 20 glorious years, in various roles as CEO and chairman of the Board of Directors. The 20 years jubilee, which we celebrated this year was a perfect opportunity for summing up these two decades, during which we have tried to play a leading role in the development of the steel industry in Poland - despite crises and challenging market situations. I would like to convey my thanks to all my wonderful colleagues who have supported me throughout my tenure – comments Sanjay Samaddar. – I am proud and happy to see Wojciech take the helm of the company. Having worked for ArcelorMittal Poland since the year 2000 and been its CEO for 18 months, he knows it inside out, so the company could not have a better leader. I wish him a lot of success and I will be supporting him in this new role – he adds. 

Wojciech Koszuta started his career in Huta Florian (now ArcelorMittal Poland’s unit in Świętochłowice) in 2000 as an intern. In 2001 he took up a position of processing technology engineer. In 2003, he became a production planning engineer. In 2005 he was promoted to production planning office manager and in 2007 he became process engineering department manager. Wojciech has since held various managerial positions at ArcelorMittal Poland's plants. In 2012 he was promoted to the position of Świętochłowice Plant director. In  2017, he took up the role of Krakow cold rolling mill director. From 2020 to 2023 Wojciech served as Chief Operating Officer for quality and flat products, with additional responsibilities from 2022. In 2023 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of ArcelorMittal Poland. 

Wojciech holds a degree in metallurgy and a postgraduate degree in material science from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. He also completed a postgraduate program in business administration and marketing at the Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice, Poland.
