In September 2022, ArcelorMittal Poland achieved ResponsibleSteelTM certification for the first time, and now it is time for another audit.
What is the ResponsibleSteel standard?
ResponsibleSteelTM certification is a voluntary, global, initiative of the steel industry, to actively support the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The standard (the requirements that must be met to achieve a positive audit result) is developed by steel industry leaders and experts in corporate social responsibility. The entire process, as well as the content of the requirements, is transparent and publicly available on the ResponsibleSteel website: //www.responsiblesteel.org
The main objective of this initiative is to stimulate cooperation and mutual involvement of companies at all levels of the steel supply chain, representatives of civil society and other stakeholders in achieving sustainable development goals.
Audit process
The audit of ArcelorMittal Poland will be conducted by DNV, an independent certification body, between 30 January 2025 and 14 February 2025. The audit process consists of a detailed analysis of the individual criteria of the standard, as well as visits to our plants and discussions with a wide range of stakeholders - employees, trade unions, social organisations, local authorities, public administration bodies, NGOs, residents, politicians, suppliers on topics including health and safety, human rights, labour law or environmental impact management, as well as the whole sphere of the company's broader social commitment.
