Board of Directors of ArcelorMittal Poland

Sanjay Samaddar

Chairman of the BOD of ArcelorMittal Poland, CEO of FCE Business Division East

Sanjay Samaddar assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of ArcelorMittal Poland and the CEO of Business Division East of Flat Carbon Europe on 1st of June 2009.

His relation with the steel industry goes back to 2003 when he joined the steel plant at Galati, Romania as Director Sales & Marketing. In July 2005 he became the Sales and Marketing Director and BOD member of Mittal Steel Poland. In December 2006, consequent to the formation of ArcelorMittal, he was appointed Chief Marketing Officer for Eastern Europe, with responsibility for sales from the mills in Romania, Poland and Czech Republic. In March 2008 Sanjay Samaddar was appointed CEO & Chairman of the Board of ArcelorMittal Ostrava. From June 2009 to January 2012, he was holding the position of CEO of ArcelorMittal Poland.

Prior to joining the steel sector, Sanjay has been associated with the Aluminium industry in India in various leadership roles.

Geert Verbeeck

Vice president, CEO of ArcelorMittal Poland.

Geert joined the Group (in former Sidmar) in 1989 as Software Architect. He was a project leader for several IT projects in supply chain and production in ArcelorMittal Gent, Tailor Steel Gent, and Bremen. From 2000 to 2002, Geert was Chief Architect in Bremen. From 2002 to 2004, Geert returned as Chief Architect in Ghent and in 2004, he was promoted to Head of Industrial Automation. Since 2007 Geert has been Head of the Steel Shop. In his most recent role, since 2014, Geert has been Chief Operating Officer of Primary ArcelorMittal Gent.

Geert graduated in civil engineering and computer science from the University of Leuven, Belgium.

Czesław Sikorski

COO - Coke making and special projects, member of the BOD of ArcelorMittal Poland

Czesław Sikorski assumed the position of Executive Director of Primary in October 2011. He was appointed member of the Board of Directors of ArcelorMittal Poland in July 2009.
All his professional life has revolved around Zdzieszowice coke plant, where he started in 1979 as foreman. He then assumed various positions within ZKZ – from deputy plant head to deputy COO. In 1996 he became CEO and in 1999 – BOD chairman. From 1999 to 2010 he held the position of CEO and BOD chairman of ZK “Zdzieszowice”.

Czeslaw graduated from AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, with Master’s degree in Chemistry. He also completed a number of postgraduate studies, among which were coke processing and Coking and Industrial Plant Management – both at AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

He is a co-author of a number of inventions and solutions in the scope of coking equipment and technologies lowering the environmental impact of coking industry.

Tomasz Ślęzak

Head of Energy & Environment, corporate governance & government affairs, board member.

Tomasz Ślęzak started his career in 1991 at ING Poland where he spent over 15 years in various banking areas and in diverse positions. He joined ArcelorMittal Poland in 2007 as director of Corporate Governance. Currently he is in charge of management and restructuring of assets, as well as energy and environmental protection. He continues in his role of Country Manager, Poland.

Tomasz graduated from Silesian University and holds a postgraduate diploma of Economic University in Katowice and IESE Business School.

Adam Preiss

CFO and BOD member of ArcelorMittal Poland.

Adam joined the Group in 2004 as Head of Accounting. Then from 2011 to 2013 he worked as Director – Controlling & Statutory Reporting. In September 2015, he was appointed as CFO and on 24th of November 2015 he was appointed as the BOD member. In 2007 – 2011 Adam was a BOD member at Shared Service Centre Europe. Before joining the Group, he worked for Ernst & Young in Poland.

Adam has a degree in Finance from the University of Economics in Katowice and is a Fellow Member of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
