Aleksandra Kania takes up the position of Country Manager and Director for Government Affairs & Strategic Partnerships at ArcelorMittal Poland

ArcelorMittal Poland informs that Aleksandra Kania has been appointed as Country Manager, and Director for Government Affairs & Strategic Partnerships. She replaces Tomasz Ślęzak, who resigned from this position and membership in the Management Board of ArcelorMittal Poland at the end of last year.

“As the largest steel producer in Poland, we remain strongly focused on our relations and effective communication with our stakeholders at all levels – municipal, provincial and governmental. Our strategic cooperation with state institutions has aways been of significant importance to us. Aleksandra takes lead of this role at a very important time, while we are working with all our strategic partners towards our common goal of decarbonization and securing competitive costs for the energy intensive industrial sector – comments Sanjay Samaddar, chairman of the Board of Directors at ArcelorMittal Poland. “The steel industry is currently facing many challenges and I am convinced that Aleksandra will do great in this role, supported by her past several years of experience with government affairs and her knowledge of our company. I wish her a lot of success," he adds.

Aleksandra joined ArcelorMittal Group in 2010 and worked in the Human Resources department and then as executive assistant to Country Manager. In 2017 Aleksandra was nominated head of projects with public sector in the area of funding in the field of environmental protection, innovation, research and development; she was also in charge of communication with governmental and scientific institutions. From 2019 to 2023 Aleksandra worked at ArcelorMittal Business Center of Excellence Poland as director of Business Development, Communication and Administration and was at the same time executive assistant to chairman of the board of ArcelorMittal Poland in the area of government affairs.

Aleksandra holds a master’s degree in English from the University of Silesia, followed by post-graduation studies in Labour Law and diplomacy as well as an MBA from Oxford Brookes University.
