Energy efficiency

It is important to us that the ratio of energy used to the results obtained is as favorable as possible - both for business and environmental purposes. We use the Energy Management System according to the ISO 50001:2018 standard, which allows us to effectively plan the consumption of energy resources and efficiently manage their sources. We look to the future, taking into account in our strategy the opportunity to access a large amount of clean energy, which would ultimately allow us to use the possibilities of two paths leading to emission-free steel production - Smart Carbon and DRI-EAF. Energy resources from renewable sources and green hydrogen, along with appropriate legal regulations and government support, are the most important elements of our strategy in the context of decarbonisation. As part of the world's leading steel and mining group, we have the knowledge and experience in research and development to - with the right support - use clean energy efficiently and be at the forefront of pro-environmental changes. In order to improve energy efficiency on an ongoing basis, we have been running the Energize 2.0 program for several years, which includes initiatives and projects from our plants in this area.
