ArcelorMittal Poland has decided to restart its primary operations in Kraków

ArcelorMittal Poland informs that the company has decided to restart its primary operations in Kraków,

which had been idled temporarily at the end of November 2019 due to deteriorating market conditions.

- The decision to restart is driven by the need for supply of slabs to the plant at Gent where a blast furnace reline is planned, and to mitigate production losses at other plants in ArcelorMittal Europe – comments Marc De Pauw, CEO of ArcelorMittal Poland.

The company believes that it should be able to restart both the blast furnace and the steel shop in Kraków in the second half of March, the final date depending on how long the preparations will take.
