Modern equipment to clean and disinfect endoscope worth PLN 40 000 was handed over to endoscopy unit of gastrointestinal tract at St. Barbara’s hospital in Sosnowiec thanks to support from Health Protection Foundation in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Representatives of Foundation and ArcelorMittal Poland handed over four computers and printer which will be used at cardiologic clinic. Quite soon internal medicine ward will be equipped.
Each year, Health Protection Foundation acting at ArcelorMittal Poland allocates hundreds of thousand PLN to support hospitals and medical units in Zagłębie region. Only this year Foundation donated 100 000 PLN for medical equipment. – Health Protection Foundation has been cooperating with St. Barbara’s hospital for years and donates funds to purchase equipment which helps to save lives of patients, who are as well employees of our company or subsidiaries – explains Katarzyna- Karcz Mączka, chairperson of Health Protection Foundation.
Today, two wards in Sosnowiec received two new and two second-hand computers and a printer worth 13 000 PLN. Apart from that Foundation donated funds to buy special screen which is needed in every day work of doctors during surgery. – Bigger screen gives more opportunities, finding details which can help in diagnosis or will allow to prepare better to operations. It might seem that it is not a big deal but during our work it really matters. We might take good decisions and adjust proper medical procedures – says Maciej Wrotniak, head of orthopedic and traumatic disease ward.
Not only these wards received equipment under cooperation with Health Protection Foundation and ArcelorMittal Poland. In May a special equipment to clean endoscope was handed over. Quite soon internal medicine ward will be equipped thanks to support of Health Protection Foundation and ArcelorMittal Poland with two electric aspirators needed during surgery. Cost of which is PLN 6000.
