In case of this event, there is no problem with attendance. Open Days which are usually organized in May in our units are very popular among local residents. Enrollment lists are full in few hours after the enrollment process starts. It seems that many people are very interested in what is happening behind the gates.
This year our units in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Sosnowiec, Świętochłowice, Kraków and coke plant in Zdzieszowice opened its doors to visitors. In total about 800 people visited our units.
In Dabrowa Górnicza and Kraków, visitors started with the movie „The birth of steel” which shows the steelmaking process in a simple way. Then in Dąbrowa Górnicza the visitors could see the rolling process at the heavy section mill and medium section mill. This year additional attraction was a quick tour around BF installations. Though it was a really quick tour, the impressions were enormous.
In Sosnowiec and Świętochłowice participants met at the conference rooms where they could find out general information about the company. In Sosnowiec they could see wire rod mill and cold strip mill. In Świętochłwoice coating and galavanizing line.
In Kraków, visitors had an opportunity to see the two largest investment projects completed in 2016. New galvanizning line and modernized hot strip mill.
The largest group during Open Days are young people, many of them are students of technical universities. Open Days are also occasion to show their place of work to family members.
