ArcelorMittal Poland signed an agreement with trade unions regarding solutions for employees of the Krakow coke plant

ArcelorMittal Poland informs that less than two weeks after the announcement of hot idling of battery, it has completed negotiations with trade unions from Krakow regarding solutions for coke plant employees during the hot idle of the installation. The talks culminated in an agreement signed on December 4 containing solutions for 229 employees of this plant - developed together with the trade unions and taking into account most of the postulates of the TUs.

- We would like to thank the TUs for reaching a compromise and jointly developing solutions that protect the interests of employees during a hot idle of battery - says Stanisław Ból, personal director of ArcelorMittal Poland.

The company assumes that 129 of the 229 employees employed in the Krakow coke plant will find employment in other ArcelorMittal Poland plants. Approximately 100 people will perform work related to the maintenance of the coke plant during its hot idling.

Both ArcelorMittal Poland and the TUs agreed that the most important goal is to provide employees with another job in the company or its subsidiaries. Most of them will therefore receive a job offer in other areas of the company. Employees who receive a job offer outside Krakow will be provided with free transport. They will also receive additional financial benefits to compensate for the longer commute to work. During this time, some employees will undergo training - mandatory and specialized allowing them to acquire additional qualifications needed in the company. Others will use for example overdue leave.

- Immediately after agreeing on the provisions of the agreement, i.e. on December 5, we started direct talks with the employees of the Krakow coke plant. Representatives of our office talk to each employee individually, trying to adapt the job offer to their competences and capabilities, also taking into account their family and personal situation - emphasizes Stanisław Ból.

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products, a company belonging to the ArcelorMittal group and not related to ArcelorMittal Poland, also signed an agreement with trade unions on December 11, which includes solutions for their employees.
