Magdalena Soboń-Stasiak is the compliance officer of 2022

On October 5, 2023, the Compliance Awards Gala was held at ArtBistro in Warsaw, during which the title of compliance officer of the year 2022 was awarded to Magdalena Soboń-Stasiak, Senior Legal Counsel, Compliance Officer, ArcelorMittal Poland (compliance officer).

This laurel has been awarded for 4 years by the Competition Jury composed of members of the Program Council of the "Compliance" magazine.

This magazine is published for practitioners by the Compliance Institute, which conducts industry training and provides assistance to compliance officers in their current work.

- I am proud of the award I won. This is a great distinction and appreciation for my many years of work. It is also a reward for our company and a confirmation that we meet all compliance requirements and that our compliance procedures operate based on the highest standards - says Magdalena Soboń-Stasiak.

The competition consists of awarding honorary distinctions in four categories: compliance officer of the year, compliance project of the year, compliance advisor of the year and whistleblowing project of the year. It was in this first category that the compliance officer from our company won the laurel.

As the organizers emphasize, the annual "Compliance Awards" competition, in which unique personalities and compliance projects are selected, was initiated to strengthen market awareness and reward special achievements in the area of compliance management, both of individuals and the achievements of the entire organization.

What is compliance?

Compliance means conformity, following the rules. Nowadays, this concept is clearly associated with a specific company organization. These are systems integrated into the company's structures and processes, the purpose of which is to prevent violations of generally applicable law and standards voluntarily adopted by all members of a given organization. through whistleblowing mechanisms or conducting internal investigations, as well as participate in their sanctioning.
