Polish students enjoy team sport thanks to ArcelorMittal’s support

ArcelorMittal Poland is this year again an active partner in Juliada – the sport festival organised every year in Krakow in July to promote sport among kids and youth. Organised in 2017 for the 19th time, it gathered 10,000 young people, mainly students from the schools around Krakow. This festival is for them an opportunity to spend their free time in an active way.

Amazing atmosphere, fun and joy, fair play spirit – these are the key words one can use to summarize Juliada. Apart from traditional sports disciplines like football, volleyball, tennis and badminton, a new activity was introduced in 2017: speed-ball. This new sport was presented in Kraków by Zbigniew Bizon, who is Poland’s vice-champion in this sport discipline.

Such an event offers fun to the youth and the opportunity to spend free time together, which is important to them. For the kids and young people who spend summer at home, Juliada is a great attraction and beyond the awaited summer activity, the participants will be bitten by the sport bug, learn how to cooperate as a team but also how to compete in a fair play spirit. Thanks to our support, more people can benefit of the programme,” says Karolina Muza, head of corporate responsibility office at ArcelorMittal Poland.
